What We Believe
As United Methodists, we believe our primary task is to bear witness to Jesus Christ.
Methodists, since the days of John Wesley, have been concerned with personal and social holiness. We believe in a God who speaks in scripture, tradition, experience and reason. We believe in a loving and merciful God who is constantly seeking to be in relationship with us. In response to God’s great love and sacrifice for us witnessed in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, we are called to live a life of loving and caring for each other. Being a disciple of Jesus Christ means we grow closer to Him until we are transformed into his likeness.
Vision
Our vision for the Colona United Methodist Church is to be a growing place of God where we accept, love, share, and serve people of all ages and means within the church and the world.
Mission
Our mission is to invite all to know Jesus as we grow in faith and serve.
Invite – Grow – Serve
Invite – All are invited to Christ’s table of grace.
Grow – Grow in Christ. Being a disciple of Jesus Christ means we grow closer to him until we are transformed into His likeness. We offer classes, groups, studies, and experiences for all ages to help everyone to grow spiritually. Our desire is for each person to grow into the person God has designed and is calling them to be.
Serve – We are to be the hands and feet of Christ. That means that we must make a practical difference in the places we live whether it be at school, work, or play. We offer a variety of options to serve together through service projects, missions, outreach and other vital means of witnessing to God’s great love by ministering to the pain and suffering of the people of the world.
That is our mission: Invite-Grow-Serve. That is why we are here. We are here in the business of making Christians, and providing the evidence with our lives that the Christian life is the way you ought to live in this world.
